Job description

Key Activities

Reporting to the Associate Director of Finance and operationally to the Director, Development Operations of the National Arts Centre Foundation the Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for financial operations management, audit management, budgeting and forecasting, process design and internal controls, supporting fundraising activities, and business intelligence. This role supports and assists the CFO / Treasurer of the Foundation, the Associate Director of Finance and National Arts Centre Foundation management in the financial and business management of the Foundation.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to :

  • Managing the day-to-day financial operation including month-end closing, bank reconciliation of the National Arts Centre Foundation;
  • Preparing monthly related transactions and reconciliation between National Arts Centre Corporation & Foundation;
  • Managing & preparing the monthly and quarterly financial statements, cash flow and fundraising reports for internal departments, the CEO, and the National Arts Centre Foundation Board;
  • Managing the audit processes for the NAC Foundation and assisting with related audits for the NAC Corporation;
  • Working directly with Finance and Foundation management to prepare the Foundation annual budget and quarterly forecasts;
  • Managing the administration of budgets and forecasts in SP365 Business Central;
  • Maintaining and administering the Foundation company in SR365;
  • Designing and documenting finance processes and procedures;
  • Reviewing and providing input to formal and informal internal control processes and documentation;
  • Providing support for fundraising activities, including procurement, monitoring commitments and expenses compared to budget, preparing invoices and coordinating with various central agencies when needed;
  • Manage integrations and data quality processes (validations, mappings, transformations, confirmations) from various systems to Sparkrock 365 and Power BI; and
  • Use Business intelligence (BI) and financial analysis for data integration and visualization through dashboards, reports including power BI, and Charts.

Skill Requirements

  • University degree in Accounting, Finance and / or Commerce;
  • Completed or in the process of completing a professional accounting designation;
  • A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in full cycle accounting. financial analysis, and budgeting at the corporate level;
  • Proficient with accounting systems including Dynamics 365 Business Central and Power BI;
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other software;
  • Advanced analytical skills and keen attention to details;
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills;
  • Results-oriented and able to multi-task efficiently;
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills;
  • Team player and able to report and communication with all levels of the organization;
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities and deadlines; and
  • Bilingualism is preferred.
