We are seeking a detail-oriented entry-level Accountant - Billing Clerk to join our client's team in Burnaby, British Columbia. This long-term contract position presents an excellent opportunity to contribute to a growing organization in the manufacturing industry. In this role, you will focus on accounts receivable and billing processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness while working closely with project managers and the accounting team.
Responsibilities :
- Prepare and issue invoices based on project information and hours worked, ensuring accuracy and compliance with billing structures.
- Collaborate with project managers to gather necessary details and obtain approvals for invoices.
- Process payment applications for various projects and maintain accurate records.
- Perform accounts receivable reconciliations and ensure timely follow-up on outstanding payments.
- Assist with journal entries and month-end closing activities to support financial reporting.
- Monitor billing deadlines and prioritize tasks to meet organizational goals.
- Utilize accounting software, preferably NetSuite, to manage financial records and transactions.
- Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to resolve discrepancies and streamline processes.
- Support the accounting team during peak periods, particularly the first two weeks of the month.
- Maintain organized documentation and adhere to company policies for financial transactions.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of accounting experience, with a focus on accounts receivable and billing.
- Proficiency in accounting software, preferably NetSuite.
- Strong understanding of journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end closing procedures.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with project managers and accounting staff.
- Ability to meet strict deadlines and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy in financial processes.
- Knowledge of billing structures and payment applications within a project-based environment.
- Familiarity with general accounting functions and financial reporting.
