HORIBA Canada Inc., located in London, Ontario, is looking for one (1) full-time and permanent Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Machinist (NOC 72100).
The successful candidates will be responsible for the following :
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts, and tables, or study sample parts to determine the machining operation to be performed and plan the best sequence of operations;
- Compute dimensions and tolerances, measure and lay out work pieces;
- Set up, operate, and maintain a variety of machine tools, including computer numerically controlled (CNC) tools, to perform precision, non-repetitive machining operations such as sawing, turning, milling, boring, planning, drilling, precision grinding, and other operations;
- Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments;
- Set up and program machine tools for use by machining tool operators;
- Ensure all documentation is properly filled out, control allocated time on components, route sheets, and equipment maintenance records;
- Reporting on quality and operational issues within the department to the department supervisor;
- Interfaces with internal customers and other internal departments to ensure timely delivery of custom machined parts;
- Applies knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures;
- Possess knowledge of higher-level Machining Specialist machines prototypes components (parts) used in the assembly and testing of R&D projects and has a comprehensive understanding in the machining of standard and exotic materials;
- Promote a safe environment and ensure safety while handling workpieces;
- Ensure daily maintenance and cleaning of equipment for efficient function and to minimize downtime, identify equipment problems, and communicate solutions as required or needed.
- Needs to be proficient with AutoCAD and Alibre design software.
The applicant must have at least 1 year of experience as a machinist, specifically with CNC programming experience. The successful candidate must have completed secondary school or have a credential assessment confirming equivalency.
The completion of a 2-year Electromechanical Engineering Technician course is an asset. The applicant must speak, read, and write in English.
Successful candidates will be remunerated at $28.50 per hour and receive health benefits.
