A Snapshot of Your Day
As the Purchasing & Planning Manager, you will lead the purchasing team (buyers, senior strategic buyer, inventory specialist, and contract administrator) and the planning activities at the distribution transformers factory in Trois-Rivières.
Leading your team, you’ll ensure on-time production by making sure that materials are available as required according to delivery schedules. You’ll contribute to the plant’s success by negotiating favourable purchasing terms and maintaining optimal inventory levels. You will be part of our cross-plant consolidation team and contribute to international procurement initiatives. By developing your team members, you’ll also be helping to make our site an attractive employer in a competitive market.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Production Planning & Material Availability: Align customer orders with production capacity and ensure timely material supply to the production line.
- Supplier Management: Oversee supplier qualifications and negotiations, including handling key contract negotiations personally.
- Forecasting & Strategy: Develop product forecasts and strategies that comply with local needs and Siemens Energy policies.
- Performance & Planning: Contribute to quarterly and annual planning, presenting KPIs relevant to your scope.
- Bidding & Cost Analysis: Support bidding processes by managing delivery timelines and providing material cost insights.
- Inventory & Process Optimization: Define inventory strategies per parts group and lead improvement initiatives for operations and IT systems.
What You Bring
- Demonstrated strength in organizational skills, business acumen, and goal-oriented execution.
- At least 3 years of experience in a comparable position leading a supply chain management team with proven ability to collaborate in team environments and lead change initiatives effectively.
- Significant and practical experience in the use of IT tools for MRP/ERP (ideally SAP) as well as the Microsoft Office suite. IT project management experience is an asset
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills. Skilled in navigating ambiguity with sound judgment, customer focus, and strong decision-making and negotiation capabilities.
- Holds a bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business administration or a technical field, or equivalent; fluency in French and English is required for international collaboration and documentation.
