In Canada, our FAAS team consists of dedicated financial reporting and accounting advisory professionals, and we combine technical accounting skills in IFRS, ASPE and US GAAP with practical experience in financial reporting processes and Internal Controls over Financial Reporting to deliver world-class service to our clients.
Your responsibilities
- As a Manager, you will help finance leaders address the challenges and ongoing changes facing their business and manage the resulting repercussions on the accounting and finance function.
- You will partner with them to achieve their potential in acquisitions, divestitures, IPOs, GAAP conversions, optimization/restructuring, accounting standards policy implementation and convergence.
- You will assist with remediating pre-existing material weaknesses or significant deficiencies in clients\' control framework and help design and implement internal controls over financial reporting.
- You will create innovative commercial insights for clients and drive improvements in business processes.
- Supervise engagement teams including delegation and review of work performed; conduct timely performance reviews and provide coaching.
- Establish and maintain relationships with client management; understand the client\'s industry.
Qualifications & Skills
- Technical accounting experience in IFRS and US GAAP with multiple years of audit experience at a top accounting firm
- Ability to plan, manage and participate in engagements (research, assess financial and governance processes, assist with framework transitions, compare practices, develop training)
- Experience auditing clients who comply with NI 52-109 and/or SOX 404 regulatory requirements
- Experience assessing control failures, determining material weaknesses or significant deficiencies
- Experience in risk assessments and evaluating internal control design
- Understanding of IT general controls and entity level controls
- Prepare deliverables tailored to client needs
