Position : H&S Advisor
Location : Abbotsford, BC
Salary : $60,000-$78,000 per year (depending on experience and qualifications)
Industry : Aerospace / Manufacturing / Industrial / Health & Safety
Employment Term : Full Time / In-person
Roles & Responsibilities :
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies, along with relevant regulations.
- Research and suggest improvements for safety equipment to enhance safety measures.
- Assist the OHS Manager and Conduct internal safety audits and propose necessary actions for compliance.
- Investigate all first aid incidents and Keep records of hazard observations.
- Conduct safety training sessions, Ensure availability of adequate first aid facilities and equipment.
- Investigate accidents and incidents thoroughly according to established procedures.
- Attend monthly Occupational Health & Safety Committee meetings.
- Coordinate with Human Resources on employee injuries and claims.
- Additional related duties.
Qualifications & Experience :
- Diploma or degree in Occupational Health and Safety, or equivalent qualification
- 3 years of experience in manufacturing and / or aviation
- Familiarity with disability management practices and audit management
- Experience with Transport Canada Approved Safety Management or Department of National Defense Flight Safety System is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to multitask, organize, and prioritize tasks effectively demonstrated.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
