Requirements Wage : $24.00 to $26.00 / hour
Starting date : ASAP (Pending Interview Process at HQ) Full-time shift (40 hours / week) available with the following schedule :
Assistant Manager Position 40-hour workweek (hours and days of the week worked are subject to change as required).The shift will be assigned as a whole and not broken down into part time coverage.
Successful applications will be considered based on-site seniority with consideration to their HR records by the site security manager. In the case that no internal applicants are selected, an outside candidate may be recruited.
Expectations and duties :
- Setting an example for other staff members to follow, and acting as mentor to new staff, and coach to existing staff.
- The 2-IC is the manager’s eyes and ears on site and makes sure their directives are carried out.
- Understanding BOTH the operational AND business side of the management equation to be able to make compromises and reach equitable conclusions to client, staff, and management problems.
- Enforcement of professional standards onsite including staff training, professional development, and staff disciplinary action.
- Understanding GuardTeck AND site policies, procedures, standards, and SOPs.
- Staying connected with site Admin officer, Clients, and Supervisors to ensure that anything that needs to be followed up on is addressed.
- Emergency procedures (fire / evac / earthquake / mass-casualty / triage / active-assailant) must be MEMORIZED.
- Must be fit for duty and able to be sent for and pass intermediate courses such as AST / OFA2.
- Must be trained as site Incident commander and intimately understand site evacuation and mass-casualty response procedures.
- Understanding of the Neighborhood-1 layout, it’s fire response procedures, evacuation plans and emergency procedures to be MEMORIZED.
- Assisting the Security Manager and Admin Officer with scheduling, logistics, hiring, staff coaching & discipline, incident investigations, high-risk confrontations, terminations, and risk assessments.
- Conducting interior and exterior checks of back corridors, stairwells, mechanical, hydro and sprinkler rooms in both mall and Phase 1 to ensure staff compliance with room checks.
- Conducting audits of staff deportment, dress, lighthouse usage, etc.
- Intimate knowledge of opening, closing, and patrol procedures.
- Writing Excellent Perspective incident reports with perfect spelling, grammar, punctuation and be able to serve as reviewer.
- Conducting briefings, debriefings, post-critical incident debriefings, and speaking publicly in front of large tenant associations.
- Taking ownership over this site, its staff, its difficulties, looking at them logically, and planning solutions to any issues.
- Communicating constantly with the site manager, admin officer, GuardTeck management, and clients and understanding what to send to whom, and in the appropriate manner.
- Being able to act assertively and with hustle while maintaining tact, diplomacy, communication, empathy, and understanding.
- 2+ years experience in a supervisor capacity / related role
Certification Requirements (Any)
British Columbia Security License
OFA 2 Certification
