Role Overview

The Shift Leader leads by embodying Potbelly values, managing and developing team members to deliver outstanding product quality and customer service, while building sales and controlling costs during each shift.

Candidate Qualifications

  • Friendly, customer service-oriented attitude
  • Strong communication skills
  • Problem-solving abilities
  • Comfortable with noise and fast-paced environments
  • Ability to manage allergens and handle heat in the kitchen
  • At least 18 years old
  • Preferred : 1+ year supervisory experience in food service or retail
  • Able to stand / walk for 8-9 hours; lift up to 50 pounds
  • Food safety certification within 30 days (for Illinois applicants)

    • Job Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage shift operations and team members
  • Ensure safety and cleanliness standards
  • Handle cash and prepare food efficiently
  • Address customer concerns effectively
  • Perform other duties as assigned

    • All Shift Leaders and Managers must pass a Food Safety Certification course, with specific requirements based on location.
