Summary of responsibilities
As a specialist in social work the incumbent will provide comprehensive care to sexually assaulted persons and victims of intimate partner violence as well as embody a culture of caregiver inclusion in the patient’s plan of care.
Requirements of the job
- Master’s Degree in Social Work
- Current registration with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience and demonstrated expertise in trauma, dissociation and the symptomatology related to sexual assault and intimate partner violence or relative experience
- Demonstrated case management experience
- Valid driver's license and access to own transportation
- Proven ability to manage crisis situations
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to develop a community network
- Ability to work independently
- Strong written and communication skills
- Good computer skills
- Demonstrated regular, punctual attendance
- Demonstrated commitment to patient safety
Assets :
Certified in non-violent crisis interventionExperience in criminal courtEye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) TrainedFunctional level in both official languages (oral and written in English; oral in French – and testing completed)
