The Supply Chain Logistics Portfolio provides integrated procurement and supplies distribution support across the Juravinski Hospital & Cancer Centre, the Hamilton General Hospital, St. Peter's, Maplewood, Chedoke, McMaster and West Lincoln Memorial Hospital sites. Primary functions include procurement, contract development, management & administration, and supply chain distribution. In addition the program supports the procurement needs for all capital and major redevelopment projects and manages formal relationships with GPO's and other strategic alliances including Mohawk Supply Chain Services – a Shared Services Organization providing the hospital’s warehousing and JIT inventory system support, among other services.
Position Summary
Reporting directly to the Manager, Procurement, the position of Clinical Specialist – Medical Supplies will monitor contract changes, changes in clinical practice, change to Ministry standards and facilitate product conversions and arrange in services related to product changes. The Clinical Specialist will provide ad hoc services for Medbuy and Mohawk RFP initiatives, support clinical practice committees and consult on product recalls and defective products. The Clinical Specialist will work collaboratively with the clinical areas to facilitate product selections and standardization. The Clinical Specialist will also work collaboratively with the Procurement team, JIT Warehouse personnel and the Affiliate / Partner hospital personnel to maintain the criteria for goods being standardized and approved for introduction into the information and physical warehouse systems. The Clinical Specialist will also work on projects to assist new entities standardizing to start up in the JIT warehouse systems. The position of Clinical Specialist will also be responsible for the product / equipment recall, including follow up on substitutes with the Procurement team.
Schedule Work Hours
Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week
