Our client is looking for an experienced and energetic Maintenance Millwright to join our Maintenance Department in Chilliwack, BC.
The Maintenance Millwright will oversee the comprehensive industrial and mechanical projects for the company. The Maintenance Millwright will be involved with the installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial equipment and machinery. Using specialized tools, the Maintenance Millwright will trouble-shoot, test, align, repair, and replace machine parts as required. They may also move or relocate machinery if necessary.
You will :
- Oversee and Perform maintenance and mechanical repairs for assigned buildings and related facilities, furnishings, and equipment. The required duties may include maintenance of machinery, painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, masonry, cement work, HVAC maintenance, and other related work
Trouble-shoot and perform maintenance and repairs on machinery and equipment
Clean and lubricate machinery, perform basic diagnostic tests, check the performance of the machine, and test damaged machine parts to determine whether major repairs are necessary.Review and follow technical and complex machinery manualsWork with equipment manuals and interacting with equipment manufacturers to keep production equipment running efficientlyDisassemble machine parts when transporting or repairing them, and reassemble the partsCollect and store distinct machinery partsVisit various manufacturing sites to assess potential issues or needsPerform electrical repairs such as replacing switches and wiring; general repairs to refrigeration equipment; install / repairs of irrigation systems and water linesOperate equipment necessary to complete the assigned tasksDetermine the requirements to carry out specific tasks or jobsWork through maintenance lists as requiredPerform routine walkthrough checklists for each propertyCollaborate with production workers and / or engineers when using the machinesYou have :
3rd or 4th Year apprentice or Journeyman Level Millwright CertificationProven experience as a Millwright or in a similar roleHands-on experience with construction equipment and machineryStrong knowledge and understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, belt systems, motors, and other industrial machine componentsAble to weld and cut metal partsCritical thinking and electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills are essentialStrong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skillsAble to understand blueprints, written schematics, layout plans and other materialsA strong attention to detail and excellent mathematical skillsYou are someone who wants to grow as a technical problem solver and you enjoy learning new things everydayTeam spirit and a positive attitudeExcellent time management and organizational skillsMust have a valid driver’s licenseWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hearThe employee must regularly lift and / or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and / or move up to 50 poundsSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus
