Course Number and Title : COG341H1S – Issues in Cognitive Science I : Attention, Perception, and Consciousness

Course Description : An examination of core topics in cognitive science building on introductions in . Typical topics include : perception and attention; concepts; imagery; consciousness.

Estimated Course Enrolment :  60 students

Estimated TA Support : 1 position (75 hours – subject to final enrolment)

Class Schedule :  Mondays / Wednesdays, 1 : 00 pm – 2 : 30 pm

Salary : $9,457.90 (Sessional Lecturer1)

  • Minimum Qualifications : A Master’s degree required.

    Preferred Qualifications : Ph.D. preferred; experience teaching in a university environment preferred; relevant background in Cognitive Science required.

    Description of Duties : Normal duties related to the design and teaching of a university credit course, including preparation and delivery of course content; development, administration and marking of assignments, tests and exams; calculation and submission of grades; holding regular office hours. Supervising the TA (if applicable), preparing and supervising tests and exams.
