DEPARTMENT : Catering

SUPERVISES : N / A

LOCATION : Offshore Newfoundland, Canada

JOB SUMMARY : Ensure that the galley and cleaning activities, and the preparation of the meals contributes to an optimum care for the crew in compliance with safety, maritime and environmental regulations.

PRE- REQUISITES / QUALIFICATIONS :

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • At least One (1) Year of relevant operational experience on board vessel
  • STCW Basic Safety, Marine Medical, and Security Awareness
  • Seafarer Discharge Book
  • Valid Passport
  • Quality orientation
  • Result driven
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Must pass Physical, Drug Screen and Background / Pre-Employment Screening Checks

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Assist the (Chief) Cook with the daily preparations of all meals.
  • Clean galley, messrooms and storerooms.
  • Clean and upkeep all cabins and accommodation / public areas.
  • Execute laundry services for crew.
  • Comply with all national, international and local maritime law and regulations as well as industry standards.
  • Report all incidents and near misses according to the company policy and engage during safety drills.
  • Discuss with and advise the Master, (Chief) Cook about methods to optimize the daily work
  • Assist the (Chief) Cook with administration according catering company guidelines.
  • Upkeep of cleaning checklists.
  • Other duties as assigned.
