Job description

POSITION OVERVIEW :

Solar Ship Inc. seeks an exceptional individual to fulfill the role of Project Coordinator. The Project Coordinator is an essential part of the Operations team, supporting administrative, management and technical personnel. This role offers an opportunity to represent the organization and work with a broad range of individuals from diverse global backgrounds. The Project Coordinator reports directly to the COO.

Responsibilities primarily involve business administration, with an opportunity to initiate and collaborate on technical research projects and specific missions in the field – Arctic and Africa.

DUTIES INCLUDE :

  • Support Team operations and scheduling software
  • Support HR (e.g. maintain HR database; provide new hire packages; manage new hire onboarding)
  • Procurement : manage purchase request database; create POs and place orders; liaise with Bookkeeper to ensure invoices are properly stored and assigned project codes; liaise with technical teams to ensure project codes are updated
  • Assist Bookkeeper, if required
  • Initiate and implement company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • General business administration
  • Initiate and conduct long-term technical research projects
  • Coordinate youth projects in the Arctic and Africa
  • Research and maintain database of funding opportunities; coordinate proposal submissions
