ROLE :
As the VP, Finance, you are responsible for overseeing the financial operations, reporting and accounting activities of our current operating entities as well as future ones. Reporting into the COO, you will play a vital role in shaping and executing key financial strategic priorities that align with HK Henderson’s annual and overall long-term growth objectives. In this role, you will provide effective and timely financial management and analysis to support decision making. You will be a trusted advisor and influencer within the leadership team. You are results-oriented, innovative and analytical with a strong drive for change.
WHAT YOU’LL DO : Finance :
- Most importantly, you will lead by example, live our values, and drive execution of key financial strategies.
- Overseeing Facilities & Asset management and implementing Business Continuity Plan.
- Responsible for preparing and coordinating the annual budgeting & forecasting process with the leadership team and working closely with stakeholders across the business, preparing individual sales budgets, and consolidation of final output.
- Manage cash flow and analysis for free cash flow distributions.
Financial Reporting :
Overseeing financial processes and procedures and ensuring that the proper controls are put in place for data integrity.The preparation of reporting packages; monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports with respect to production, new business, growth, profits, trends, costs, tracking metrics and compliance with budgets.Present financial results to the Executive Leadership Team and at the quarterly business review meetings.Work closely with Navacord Finance and external auditors for year-end activities, including financial audits, taxes, as well as variance Navacord projects.Key liaison and oversight for financial audit, tax filing and compliance etc.Work closely with the Corporate Finance team on a variety of projects.Adopt a continuous improvement mindset around reporting automation and distribution to executive team members to support expediated decision making at the strategic level.Strategy
Oversee short and long-term budgetary planning and cost management in alignment with the organization’s strategic plan.Translate the corporate strategy and executive mandate into formalized financial systems and processes to achieve strategic priorities and outcomes.Collaborate closely with other departments to align financial planning and budgeting with corporate goals.Partner with the leadership team to identify revenue and cost drivers and mitigation strategies.Actively participate in the corporate quarterly business review process to report on the progress of operational efficiencies and cross-sell initiatives.Leadership
Provide support, guidance, coaching and direction to the various levels throughout the finance department.Be present and engaged; be a role model of professional conduct pursuing excellence in execution, seeking opportunities for continuous improvement, and producing creative and / or unique solutions.Demonstrate an ability to anticipate outcomes and to adjust approaches and internal services accordingly.WHAT WE REQUIRE :
University degree in Finance or Accounting (or related field).Accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA) in good standing.7+ years finance and technical accounting background.Background in Property & Casualty insurance, Benefits, Wealth Management experience within the brokerage segment of the insurance industry would be a definite asset.Strong analytical, numerical and reasoning abilities.Experience with Financial Analysis, Reporting and Strategic Decision Making.Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.Exceptional leadership qualities, characterized by energy, collaboration, and the ability to inspire and unite teams towards a shared vision.Proficiency in analysis, problem-solving, critical thinking, decision-making, teamwork, communication, innovation, and adaptability.Advanced user of Microsoft Excel, proficient with Microsoft PowerPoint and Word; experience with a broker management system (EPIC).Experience with Power BI (or similar tool) is an asset.Qualified candidates are invited to email their resume and cover letter to : careers@hkhenderson.ca
