As a HVAC - Refrigeration Mechanic with Vancouver Coastal Health you will:

• Perform skilled work at the journeyman level, in accordance with the Mechanical Refrigeration Code and other standards/regulations, in the installation, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of the refrigeration equipment such as chillers, heat pumps, roof top air conditioning units, package air conditioning units, blood fridges, ultra low temperature freezers, refrigerators, ice machines and refrigerated display cases.
• Utilize meters, refrigeration gauges, leak detectors, appropriate hand and power tools and equipment such as a computer to access the Building Automation System.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Two (2) years' recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Certificate of Apprenticeship or Trades Qualification Certificate as a journeyman Refrigeration Mechanic.

• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to deal with others effectively.
• Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings.
• Ability to organize work.
• Ability to operate related equipment.
