Our client is seeking a Business Systems Analyst for a Data Repository (Data Warehouse / Data Lake) and a Ministry Reporting Central Data Warehouse project.
Contract Period: This contract can be until March 31,
For local candidates: hybrid model in Vancouver 2 days/week on-site (Thursdays included) with first 4 days of contract on-site for onboarding.
For remote candidates living outside of Lower Mainland: first 4 days of contract on-site for onboarding, then one Thursday per month in Vancouver office at own expense.
Standard 35 hours/week - 7 hours/day Mon - Fri
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or related field
- 5+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst (BSA) working on data reporting and data warehouse
- Working extensively on Waterfall projects recently
- IIBA certification, comprehensive training in Business Analysis, or solid knowledge of BABOK
Business Analysis Experience
Solid experience of business analysis in waterfall projects. The experience MUST include:
- Definition of business analysis approach
- Elicitation techniques
- Comprehensive documentation of requirements (business requirements, stakeholder requirements, functional requirements, non-functional requirements, transition requirements)
- Translating business needs into requirements and requirements into technical specifications
- Assessment of current state and future state, and gap analysis
- Documenting process and data flows
- Requirements lifecycle management (including requirements traceability)
Systems Analysis Experience
- Experience with SQL
- Data Integrity, data profiling, data transformation, data management rules
- Comprehensive documentation of data mapping
- Data warehousing and reporting
- Familiarity with cloud data platforms (Azure Synapse, Snowflake, AWS Redshift)
Compliance Experience
- Interpret ministry and government compliance standards to ensure solution meets regulatory expectations
- Understanding of privacy and data protection regulations in BC
