Job description

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities :

  • Diagnoses, troubleshoots, maintains, and repairs / rebuilds plant production equipment and machinery as well as facility systems.
  • Maintains optimum operating efficiency with minimum down time.
  • Maintains on-going preventative maintenance programs complete with documentation.
  • Identifies and implement plant improvements and improve cost effectiveness. Attends to machinery breakdowns and production stoppages.
  • Operates machine shop equipment (lathe, mill, grinder, etc.)
  • Participates in and contributes to the continuous improvement process.
  • Adheres to all workplace safety policies, compliances, and regulations.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Nature and Scope :

  • Selects correct processes from clearly prescribed rules, past practices, or instruction. Seeks advice and guidance on non-routine or problem areas from supervisor. Deviations from the norm are cleared by the supervisor.
  • Under close supervision, exercises limited latitude / independent judgment. Work typically involves detailed checks or close review of output by a senior coworker and / or supervisor.
  • None.

    • Work Environment :

  • Typically located in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors that may cause noticeable discomfort or a moderate risk of accident or illness, such as temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noises, and fumes.
  • Requires intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting, and maneuvering material or equipment that may be heavy (50+ pounds) or awkward.
  • No travel required.

    • Education and Experience :

    HS Diploma or GED strongly preferred. 0-2 years of experience in area of responsibility.

    Preferred Qualifications :

  • Millwright License 433A Red Seal with a minimum of ten years related industrial experience and proven success in process improvement, maximizing equipment efficiencies and run time.
  • Capable of servicing new equipment and rebuilding / servicing old equipment.
  • Working at heights training certification, forklift license, scissor lift experience / certification.
  • Ability to read blueprints and layout drawings.
  • Experience in welding.
  • Working knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act.
