MLTC was created by nine First Nations located in north-west Saskatchewan who have constitutionally recognized aboriginal rights and Treaty Rights under Treaties #6, #8 and #10. The primary purpose of MLTC is to serve those First Nations in their aspirations for cultural, economic and political autonomy. As a private sector employer engaged primarily in promoting and serving the interests of the member First Nations, MLTC asserts its right to provide preferential treatment to First Nations people, giving them priority in decisions on employment matters such as hiring, and this can extend to measures such as opening competitions only to First Nations people.

  • Preference will be given to qualified First Nations applicants or other Indigenous applicants who self-declare as being a First Nations person or of other Indigenous ancestry;

MLTC is seeking a dynamic, highly motivated individual to fill the full-time, permanent position of MLTC Technical Services Administrative Support. The Tech. Services Admin Support will provide administrative support services to the MLTC Technical Services employees located in the MLTC Meadow Lake Technical Services sub-office. The employee is required to perform all duties as assigned; is required to demonstrate initiative; determine the sequence in which tasks are performed and the work methods utilized for task completion.

Duties include but are not limited to :

  • Responsible for opening of the MLTC Meadow Lake Technical Services sub-office and to prepare the workplace for daily operation.
  • Answer / forward incoming calls; greet and provide assistance to all visitors, etc.
  • Correspondence – type, copy, fax, deliver and / or mail all reports, letters, memos, forms, timesheets, payroll information, travel claims information, and other documents / correspondence to the appropriate individual / program as required by the Technical Services department.
  • Able to run daily errands (i.e. mail, business services, etc.)
  • Manage and coordinate the fleet vehicle units : Responsible to arrange vehicle repairs, maintenance, files, and cleaning.
  • Other delegated duties as requested from the Technical Services department and supervisor.
  • Qualifications : Minimum :

  • Grade 12
  • Appropriate combination of education and relevant work experience may be considered.
  • Preferred :

  • Diploma or Certificate in Office Admin from a recognized institute with related experience & knowledge.
  • Other :

  • Demonstrated knowledge in office procedures; ability to maintain accurate records / files and documentation; excellent communication, organization and planning skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in computer software applications (i.e., Microsoft Office : Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
  • Able to consistently demonstrate professionalism with a strong work ethic while maintaining confidentiality and following all MLTC policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a team environment with staff, other MLTC departments, and the nine (9) First Nation communities as well as independently with minimal supervision.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license.
  • Knowledge and understanding of MLTC and First Nation history, cultures, and values; ability to speak Cree and / or Dene will be considered an asset.
