Overview
The Manager – Software Engineering (Salesforce) will lead the engineering team responsible for analyzing, developing and supporting key Salesforce components and their ecosystem. The role involves task and personnel management of software engineers, collaboration with System Integrators (DevOps), Solution Architects and Product Management to deliver high‑quality software, ensuring correct deployment and ongoing maintenance. It also includes performance management, career development, and oversight of employee and contractor performance.
In This Role You’ll
- Deliver high quality software efficiently.
- Provide technical and personnel leadership.
- Write high quality, testable, maintainable code in multiple languages (APEX / SOQL, Java, SQL, Javascript, HTML, CSS).
- Perform code reviews and give constructive feedback.
- Conduct systems maintenance tasks.
- Lead and mentor team members on technical and procedural aspects of software development.
- Work with Product Management to translate high‑level business requirements into technical tasks and estimate implementation.
- Ensure product quality and reliability in production environments.
- Lead Software Development activities in an Agile workflow with Scrum, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.
- Stay current on platform updates, new releases, and ecosystem features; identify opportunities to leverage them for software products and business value.
- Work regular business hours remotely or onsite in Burnaby, BC.
- Manage on‑call after‑hours support and be available for critical production incidents.
- Establish performance goals and conduct regular performance reviews with all team members.
- Provide career management for all employees on the team.
- Perform other HR and financial processes as required.
- Lift moderately weighted computer equipment and peripherals from time to time.
- Actively support the RB Unreserved Commitment to Safety, ensuring everyone goes home safely.
Here’s What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or related discipline.10+ years developing software in diverse environments with a focus on Salesforce.3+ years of technical team leadership.3+ years Agile development experience.1+ year of personnel management.Seniority Level
