Purpose OF ROLE

The Plant Controller at Promat is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the manufacturing site(s), as applicable. This new role will involve managing the Companys accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting to ensure the Company meets its financial objectives and compliance standards.
The Plant Controller will work closely with the management group at Promat to drive financial accountability, improve cost efficiency, and support decision-making processes, as well as coordinate and collaborate with the Corporate Finance team on related processes and functions.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities
- Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the Company. Analyze variances between actual and budgeted performance, identifying trends and providing actionable insights.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting process for the Company and support regular forecasting cycles. Monitor budget performance and ensure effective resource allocation to meet financial targets.
- Change Management: Lead through change, building trust and credibility with operational and sales teams while bringing peers along by building shared understanding of costing and price models, or introducing new processes, roles, or ways of working, through collaboration, clear communication, and practical knowledge sharing.
- Cost Control: Oversee cost accounting functions, including tracking and controlling manufacturing input costs (materials, labour, overhead). Identify and drive cost savings and optimization initiatives and support continuous improvement efforts to optimize Companys financial performance. Support VP/General Manager of Promat in cost analysis of the contracted manufacturer sites for comparatives.
- Commercial Analytics: Serve as a cross-functional business partner to Operations and Sales, translating unit costing and product profitability analysis into actionable pricing models that support margin optimization and strategic product positioning.
- Inventory Management: Ensure accurate inventory valuation and reconciliation, monitor inventory levels, and support inventory audits and cycle counts.
- Internal Controls & Compliance: Ensure the Companys financial activities are compliant and following internal controls, and corporate policies, and regional regulatory requirements. Participate in audits and ensure proper documentation and processes are followed.
- International Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with international financial regulations related to treasury operations, foreign exchange transactions, and cross-border payments. Stay updated on changes in tax laws and financial reporting standards in all operating jurisdictions.
- Financial Planning & Decision Support: Provide financial analysis to support strategic decisions, such as capital investments, cost-benefit analyses, and operational performance improvement. Maintain fixed asset and capital lease asset files.
- Cash Flow Management: Monitor and manage the cash flow across multiple currencies in collaboration with Corporate Finance Team to optimize cash utilization.
- Risk Management: Identify, measure, and manage financial risks associated with foreign currency transactions and international operations. Develop and implement strategies to mitigate these risks in collaboration with Corporate Finance Team.
- Systems & Process Improvement: Work with Corporate Services and Operations teams to streamline financial processes and systems, enhancing overall efficiency and data accuracy.
- Team Development: Provide supervision, coaching and mentoring to Accounting Analyst and peers, fostering a collaborative, efficient and positive team environment.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA, CMA, or equivalent).
- Minimum of four (4) years of experience in a manufacturing finance or accounting role, with at least one (1) years in a leadership position.
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (experience with Business Central preferred) and strong skills in working with Microsoft Office suite of products; advanced Excel skills.
- Experience in inventory management and internal controls in a manufacturing setting.
- Demonstrated strength in change management and stakeholder engagement, with the ability to remain calm, objective, and effective in environments where new roles, systems, or expectations may initially be met with resistance.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, demonstrating effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to foster meaningful relationships and outcomes.
- Strong analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, often conflicting and timely.
- Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience preferred.
