Payroll Specialist

Our client is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to join their organization on a contract basis in Ottawa, Ontario. In this role, you will be responsible for managing full-cycle payroll processes for approximately 800 employees while ensuring accuracy and compliance with all regulations. Responsibilities:

• Process full-cycle payroll for a workforce of approximately 800 employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

• Prepare and issue T4 forms and other required payroll documentation.

• Reconcile payroll accounts to maintain accurate financial records.

• Verify employee information and ensure compliance with all applicable requirements.

• Utilize payroll systems such as ADP Workforce Now and Ceridian Dayforce to manage payroll operations.

• Handle benefit administration and tax reporting as part of payroll functions.

• Collaborate with internal teams to address payroll-related inquiries and resolve discrepancies.

• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all regulatory standards related to payroll and employee data.

• Generate detailed payroll reports and provide insights to support organizational decision-making.

• Stay updated on payroll regulations and best practices to ensure compliance.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in full-cycle payroll processing.

• Proficiency in payroll systems such as ADP Workforce Now, Ceridian, and Dayforce.

• Strong knowledge of payroll functions, including tax accounting and benefits administration.

• Experience preparing and reconciling T4 forms and other payroll documentation.

• Ability to manage payroll for large teams, ideally 800 employees or more.

• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Familiarity with accounting functions and software systems.

• Understanding of compliance requirements related to payroll and employee data privacy.
