What you will be doing

Reporting to the Manager of Customs, the Customs Broker is responsible for ensuring the smooth clearance of our clients’ goods through Canadian customs. You will act as a liaison between importers / exporters and the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), ensuring compliance with all federal and regional regulations.

You will be contributing to that vision by…

• Prepare and process import / export documents and other forms on behalf of clients according to customs regulations, laws, and procedures.
• Process incoming shipments with Canada customs to obtain release.
• Arrange delivery for shipments to customers.
• Trace shipments via Ocean / Air / Courier platform daily.
• Arrange payment of terminals / handling fees on shipments.
• Quote duty and tax rates on commodities for clients and update client profiles with proper HS codes, tariff treatments, and vendor information.
• Ensure entries are done in a timely manner to avoid storage and delays to customers.
• Answer customer queries about the status of shipments.
• Communicate with agents on customs issues to resolve problems with shipments.
• Support duty drawback processes and Canadian Duty Deferral program compliance.
• B2 form preparation.
