We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Team Leader, IT Strategic Planning . Reporting to the CIO, the Team Leader, IT Strategic Planning leads and drives excellence and execution efficiency for the IT organization. This role supports the CIO to facilitate and coordinate IT governance, overall portfolio management and lead operational improvement efforts. This role is responsible for establishing repeatable IT operational planning, demand planning and governance processes. The role is also responsible for strategic and tactical management of IT investments and initiatives through the coordination and facilitation of demand and portfolio management, budget and performance management, technology standards and policies, and centralized sourcing and vendor management.
The Team Leader, IT Strategic Planning collaborates with other IT leaders to define, prioritize, deliver, and report on delivery of strategic IT initiatives through applying structured portfolio management methodologies to improve delivery consistency and successful project implementation across the organization. The role acts as strategist, advisor and change agent and coordinates with ExCo and other senior leaders to define, understand, and deliver strategic outcomes and IT operational excellence.
What You Will Be Doing :
- Builds and maintains close working relationships with IT Leaders and supports in developing operating plans and roadmaps for achieving IT strategic goals.
- Develop and manage framework for IT strategic investment planning and project prioritization and benefits tracking and realization.
- Lead and contribute to IT Investment governance by applying structured portfolio management methodologies to annual business planning and investment process.
- Accountable for leading IT Portfolio delivery processes including IT planning, portfolio governance, project methodology framework, and resource capacity management.
- Oversees teams in monitoring for opportunities, risks, issues, and barriers to success.
- Establish and drive IT governance, including integration of IT strategies, portfolio management and prioritization, and coordination of IT governance forums (such as Technology Steering Group, Work Intake Council, Architecture Review Board (ARB) etc).
- Maintain and operationalize IT standards and frameworks including development, continuous improvement, advocacy, and communication.
- Identify, define, and manage IT organizational maturity against industry benchmarks and management of key strategic improvement initiatives.
- Establish and maintain processes for reporting and managing IT Scorecard and KPIs, including continuous improvement programs.
- Support the CIO in continuous optimization of the operating model of enterprise IT.
- Regularly review IT costs and cost structures for IT services and products so that the financial implications of IT projects and activities are communicated to the proper IT and business functions.
- Assists in the analysis and evaluation of cost recovery, cost‐benefit, and other quality management approaches for enterprise IT.
- Establish and maintain processes for Strategic Procurement and develop, document, and operationalize standard practices and guidelines for key vendor management.
- Supports content creation for key CIO communications channels : Town Halls, Governance boards, ExCo meetings etc.
What We Are Looking For :
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent with typically 10+ years related experience and continued professional development OR typically 14+ years combination of post-secondary education and related experience with continued professional development.7+ years of leadership responsibility in managing multiple, large, cross-functional teams or projects and influencing senior-level management and key stakeholders.Exceptional portfolio / project management skills, with the ability to develop and communicate objectives, influence behaviors and outcomes and maintain alignment with the business strategy.Excellent analytical, strategic planning and execution skills.Experience in business planning, IT strategy, and operations.Experience with budget management.Trustworthy with high integrity, and the ability to maintain appropriate confidentiality.Demonstrated capability in verbal and written communications skills.Outstanding facilitation, collaboration, and influencing skills.Effective interpersonal skills and strong executive presentation development and delivery skills.You Can Stand Out If :
