Welder / Fabricator

Location : New Minas, NS (and surrounding areas)

Work Type : On-site | Full-Time| Contract

Hours : Day Shift – 8 : 00 AM to 4 : 30 PM (42.5 hrs / week)

Pay : $23.00 – $35.00 / hour (negotiable based on experience)

Start Date : ASAP

What You'll Be Doing

  • Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings, and specifications
  • Operate manual, semi-automatic, and automated welding equipment
  • Perform cutting, shaping, bending, and straightening of metal
  • Fit, braze, and torch-straighten metal components
  • Use flame-cutting, arc-air cutting, and hoisting equipment
  • Work on custom fabrication, repairs, and structural projects

    • Materials & Welding Techniques

    Materials :

  • Steel, stainless steel, aluminum alloys, iron, heavy metals

    • Techniques :

  • SMAW (Stick)
  • GMAW (MIG)
  • FCAW (Flux Core)

    • Experience & Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years of welding experience (mechanical background is an asset)
  • Experience in commercial, industrial, or manufacturing environments
  • Strong attention to detail and hand-eye coordination

    • Certifications (Required or Asset)

  • WHMIS
  • Occupational Health & Safety
  • First Aid

    • Physical & Safety Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
  • Criminal record check & drug test required
  • Must have own transportation

    • Required PPE

  • Steel-toed safety boots
  • Hard hat
  • Safety glasses / goggles
