Benson Steel holds a current Certificate of recognition (COR) from the Infrastructure Health and Safety association (IHSA) and has been voted by our employees as one of the best places to work.

Key Responsibilities :

The key responsibilities of a First-Class Fitters include, but are not limited to :

• Can read a tape measure and other measuring devices to accurately layout structural steel members.
• Read and interpret shop drawings.
• Understand basic to advanced welding procedures.
• Perform tack welding operations using SMAW / Stick welding process.
• Perform cutting procedures using an Oxy-propane mixture.
• Perform housekeeping duties.
• Apply safe methods of hoisting and rigging to safely move steel within the fabrication plant.
• Perform all work safely and follow established work procedures.
• Perform general tasks as assigned by Supervisor.
