  • Position Summary

    As Vice President of Clinical Operations, you are responsible for overseeing and optimizing the clinical operations of the assigned territory. This executive role leads the strategy, execution, and management of clinical trial programs, ensuring the efficient and compliant operation of clinical trials administration. The VP will work closely with centralized and cross-functional teams, including recruiting and marketing, business development, regulatory, quality, and finance. This leader will execute with and through the Managers within the region and will collaborate closely with other departmental leadership.

    Key responsibilities include developing and implementing operational strategies, optimizing clinical trial efficiency, maintaining regulatory compliance, managing budgets and resources, and ensuring quality and patient safety. The VP will also be responsible for fostering strong relationships with external partners, vendors, and key stakeholders while promoting a high-performance, collaborative culture within the clinical operations team.

    Essential Functions

    Strategy & Business Operations :

  • Partner with Business Development & Marketing leadership to develop growth strategy for region
  • Collaborate with Finance to build annual budget; manage to budget and reforecast as necessary
  • Contribute to development of org-wide operations strategy; implement org-wide Centricity strategy
  • Meet or exceed annual budget, including growth and patient enrollment targets
  • Ensure smooth clinic operations across region
  • Lead and manage teams across multiple geographic locations and sites
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders (PIs) and clients (pharma / CRO)
  • Partner with leadership to develop, deploy and govern initiative standards, best practices, and results measures.
  • Leadership & Management

  • Lead team of Market and Operations Managers assigned region, with accountability to hitting budget and patient enrollment goals
  • Plan, hire, and lead a team of high performing leaders, support their growth and professional development
  • Ensure all sites are managing resources, time, and expenses responsibly
  • Ensure region’s tight collaboration with recruiting team to meet or exceed enrollment targets for each study
  • Monitor and report KPIs, deeply investigate and plan appropriate actions to resolve KPIs that are off target
  • Ensure appropriate, accurate, and timely communication with all staff
  • Professionally interact with monitors, auditors, and other partners and regulatory representatives
  • Contribute to ongoing improvement initiatives including technology upgrades, training enhancements, data collection and management, enrollment, and workflows
  • Support, foster, and demonstrate company values, teamwork, cohesiveness at all levels of the company, and overall contribute positively to Centricity’s culture
  • Perform retrospectives, guiding improvements, and sharing best practices.
  • Minimum

    Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in healthcare or related field
  • Site leadership experience
  • P&L management
  • 5 years in clinical research
  • Live in or relocate to assigned region (greater Toronto area) and willing to travel throughout Canada as needed
  • Preferred

  • MBA or Master’s Degree or equivalent
  • 5 years in leadership role within clinical research
