Barrington James is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Machine Learning Engineer. Our client is a leading innovator in the field of human biosignal processing that are on a mission to unlock the power of human data and transform the way we interact with technology and empowering people to understand their health and performance better.

Responsibilities

  • Build cutting-edge machine learning and signal processing models (event detection, sequence-to-sequence, signal separation, time series regression) to unlock new possibilities for our neuromotor interfaces.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers and our clients Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) team to translate scientific knowledge into real-world applications, creating intuitive and powerful user experiences.
  • Drive research forward by utilizing quantitative research methods to define, iterate, and advance key areas of our research agenda.
  • Develop robust research-grade code for deployment in research prototypes.
  • Be a team player, working across disciplines to solve complex challenges and unlock groundbreaking solutions.

Requirements

  • PhD in related field (e.g., Computer Science, Artificial intelligence, Machine learning, Signal Processing)
  • 5+ years of experience in Data Science, Machine Learning Engineering, or Data Engineering.
  • Deep expertise in machine learning algorithms and techniques (e.g., deep learning, time series analysis, natural language processing).
  • Strong understanding of signal processing fundamentals and their application to wearable sensor data.
  • Proficiency in Python and machine learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) for ML model development and deployment.
  • A track record of successfully bringing machine learning-based products from research to production.
  • Previous experience designing, executing, interpreting, and presenting research studies independently.
  • Strong academic and practical foundation in Data Science fundamentals (probability, statistics, optimization, etc.).
  • Proven ability to solve complex problems and deliver innovative solutions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
