Entry-Level Structural Designer - Kiewit Infrastructure Engineers

Position Overview

Kiewit Infrastructure Engineers (KIE) is seeking an Entry-Level Structural Designer. The ideal candidate will perform a variety of structural design production tasks related to temporary structures to support construction operations.

As an entry-level Structural Design Engineer, you will be a part of a growing team that supports all aspects of the construction process by performing innovative design engineering through brainstorming conceptual designs, performing and / or reviewing structural calculations, developing plans, scheduling tasks to meet client needs, as well as mitigating risk to keep our construction crews safe.

Our Temporary Works Group consists of innovative design engineers whose expertise in designing and building temporary structures adds value to the success of Kiewit's projects. Our groups specialties include : Bridge erection & demolition, Cofferdam design, Critical crane lifts, Erection sequencing & staged construction analysis, Hoisting and jacking, Deep foundations and dewatering, Excavation support, Pile driver, Falsework design, Temporary bridge & trestle, estimate support, Working surface design & On-site design engineering support.

Kiewit Infrastructure Engineering's Design-Build team is driving clients to turn to Kiewit during all stages of design-build projects. Through our integrated design and construction approach, our multi-disciplinary team works together to improve schedule, control costs and minimize risk. Our construction-focused engineers work collaboratively with our estimators and builders to design solutions that are innovative, constructible, and designed with a focus on safety. Clients benefit from the proven processes and tools used by Kiewit to minimize project risk. We are an in-house resource that supports projects throughout the company. Our staff shares experiences gained, innovative concepts, and best practices for all projects that we support.

Location

This position is based out of our Burnaby office.

Responsibilities

• Work with our engineering and project teams to develop 3D models for temporary structures supporting construction activities on Kiewit projects
• Use 3D software platforms to produce design documents for estimating support, development of construction documents, & procurement of material
• Maintain status of assigned tasks on team schedule
• Follow and help improve company standards

Other Requirements :

Base Compensation :  $70,580 / yr - $78,000 / yr

(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and / or location)
