Location : Slave Lake, AB. Casual employees in the Slave Lake hub are eligible to pick up shifts in 4 local communities : Slave Lake, Swan Hills, High Prairie, and Wabasca. Slave Lake is a diverse town with Edmonton 256 km away. The Lesser Slave Lake area offers outdoor opportunities and seasonal scenery.

Responsibilities

As an Emergency Medical Responder (EMR), you will :

• Assess emergency scenes and patients and may transport ill or injured patients from emergency scenes and between facilities.
• Operate ambulances or other modes of transportation, assess emergency scenes and patients, provide simple treatments and complete required documentation including patient care reports.
• Assist with ensuring that ambulances or other EMS vehicles, such as non-emergent transport (NET), are properly stocked and equipped.
• Work in a demanding environment with exposure to heat, cold, rain, snow, wind, moving traffic, and industrial / agricultural equipment.
• Travel in all weather conditions and to remote locations with exposure to hazardous and graphic scenes and direct exposure to bodily fluids.
• Physically capable of lifting and carrying up to 105 lbs, transferring patients, supplies, and equipment; kneeling and trunk flexion; standing and sitting for extended periods; bending, twisting; and side-carrying up to 20 lbs in each hand.
