Job descriptionVarious locations Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy Load and unload goods Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment Pay and receive payments for goods Perform brake adjustments Perform emergency roadside repairs Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle Perform preventive maintenance Receive and relay information to central dispatch Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo Air Brake (Z) Endorsement Driver's License (Class 1 or A) Accident or incident reports Bill of lading Driver logbook Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip) Maintenance and repair reports Trip reports Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment Driver's validity licence check Driving record check (abstract) Drive manual transmission vehicle Valid driver's licence Willing to travel for extended periods Willing to travel overnight Attention to detail Handling heavy loads Large workload Physically demanding Up to 23 kg (50 lbs) Efficient interpersonal skills Flexibility Organized Reliability Team player
