Position Overview
The Speech Pathologist in Pediatrics implements all phases of speech-language pathology care to patients, from initial contacts (gathering information) and the admitting process to procedures for screening and/or full assessments, data analysis, care and treatment planning and monitoring.
The incumbent must work in close cooperation with the members of the multidisciplinary team.

As a pre-condition of employment:
What we are looking for
• Master in Speech Language Pathology from a recognized university.
• Member of the College of Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists of Ontario.
Experience
• Minimum of two (2) years in a similar environment would be an important asset.
Skills
• Must be able to read and understand highly complex material such as very specialized and technical reports, scientific or professional research papers e.g. neurological (MRI) reports, geneticist’s reports, audiology reports, evidence-based research papers on selected therapeutic approaches.
• Must be able to write complex materials such as position papers, patient treatment plans, elaborate assessment reports and recommendations to physicians and/or other professionals.
• Must be able to apply statistical methods for the analysis of results from test batteries.
• Must be able to work under conditions that include frequent uncontrollable interruptions to workflow which create changes in priorities and result in changes in the pace/flow of work.
• Good communication skills in French and English, both oral and written.
• Demonstrated computer skills– Outlook, Internet Explorer- be considered an asset.
