Valard Construction LP is seeking qualified Distribution Journeyman and Apprentice Powerline Technicians to join our Team.
We are looking for self-motivated, team player, dedicated individuals who are willing to work as part of a dynamic team that provides crucial support to Valard’s projects throughout Saskatchewan working a 10 / 4 shift.
Requirements
- Erect and maintain wood or concrete poles, and guy wires
- Install, maintain and repair overhead and underground power lines and cables, insulators, conductors, lightning arrestors, switches, transformers, street lighting and other associated equipment
- Opens and closes switches and installs grounding devices to lines and equipment.
- Experience completing high-tension stringing activities considered an asset
- Instruct, mentor and train junior personnel and Apprentices in duties, safe work practices, care and use of tools and equipment in a positive respectful manner
- All other related duties as assigned by the Foreman or Senior Valard Team member.
- Have knowledge and expertise in the areas of construction, maintenance, and repair distribution power systems, coupled with the ability to follow instructions and procedures
- Positive Attitude and good work ethic.
Qualifications :
- Red Seal Journeyman Powerline Technician Certificate
- Minimum 3 years distribution experience
- Class 1 or 3 driver's license is considered an asset
- Rubber Glove Training is considered an asset
- Standard First Aid (CPR / AED) considered an asset
