Job Purpose :
Reporting to the Program Manager, the Supervisor is accountable to foster a positive work and early learning environment and for the day-today operations of the Centre and / or Satellite. This position has the overall responsibility to manage all centre enrolment, staffing and volunteers, employee relations, parent relations, Health & Safety, financial accountability and electronic data management, while ensuring compliance with the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA), provincial and municipal regulations and the policies and procedures of Family Day.
Job Duties :
Provide leadership in the development and execution of culturally competent, inclusive and developmentally appropriate programmingEnsure a child / family early learning environment that is respectful of children and families strengths and needsImplement a philosophy of early learning and care aligned to the organizations philosophy and strategic prioritiesManage enrolment, conduct family interviews and orientation to the centre, data collection, the preparation of monthly parent billing and meets annual service targetsEnsure that program delivery meets all provincial legislation, municipal and regional regulations and guidelinesProvide program support to staff and ensure age appropriate programs are monitored and evaluated to meet the needs of the children and familiesProvide and / or facilitates parenting programs to meet the needs of the communityConduct staff meetings regularly and individual staff meetings on a monthly basisManage within the Ontario’s Occupational Health and Safety standardsManage and establishes linkages with partners in the community to strengthen and maximize partnership opportunities for children and familiesPrepare, examine and interpret financial statements and perform routine payments, and depositsPerform other duties as requiredEducation and Experience Required
Early Childhood Education Degree or DiplomaMust be registered and a member in good standing with the CECEMinimum of 5 years supervisory and / or designate experience an assetMinimum of 5 years of child care experienceFamily support education and / or experience an assetTraining in HIGH FIVE, PHCD or HIGH FIVE Sport is a definite assetWell-developed skills in areas such as leadership, communication, organization, assessment, confidentiality, commitment and accountability, initiative and creativityKnowledge of best practices in the Early Learning development fieldKnowledge of CCIS Computer programCommitment to social inclusion and strong and effective relationship builderAbility to work independently and in a team environmentProficient in Microsoft OfficeDemonstrates the ability to network with community agencies and partnersMedical required – including TB (two stages) 6 months current to hiring datePolice Vulnerable Sector Check 6 months current to hiring dateCurrent Standard First Aid and CPR-level CValid Driver’s License and access to vehicle
