The Opportunity:

The National Post is hiring a Queens Park Columnist. The National Post is the flagship of the Postmedia Network, Canada's largest news chain which includes the Vancouver Sun, Calgary Herald, Edmonton Journal, Ottawa Citizen and Montreal Gazette.

What you’ll do:

• Write multiple columns a week that mix news, analysis and opinion.
• Cultivate sources and break news on tight deadlines.
• Write clear, concise and engaging columns that resonate with the National Post’s readership and are unafraid to challenge conventional wisdom.

Who you are:

• You have 5+ years of reporting experience and an understanding of Ontario politics.
• You are a self-starting newshound conversant with current trends.
• Strong writing and communication skills.
• A natural curiosity that feeds a desire to listen to, learn from and collaborate with readers.
• An initiative-taking team player who works well with colleagues.
• Experience and strength in video presentation is an asset.

Compensation:

In this unionized position, the successful candidate’s final salary and benefits entitlement will be determined in accordance with the applicable collective agreement and will reflect their experience, professional reputation, and other relevant qualifications.

Salary: $74,843.51 to $87,673.83
