Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH) has partnered with IOOF Seniors Home to move select Alternate Level of Care (ALC) patients, who no longer require the level of acute care provided in a hospital setting, to the newly-opened IOOF Short Term Transitional Care Unit. The successful candidate will be hired into the Float Pool and will be assigned to the IOOF, a short term unit temporarily, and will return to the Float Pool once deemed appropriate (i.e. closure of the unit).
As the Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) you are a professional caregiver who is responsible and accountable for providing quality patient care within a delivery model in accordance with the organizational philosophy, policies and standards of care of RVH, the College of Nurses (CNO), and all relevant legislation.
In this role you will assess, plan, coordinate and manage care of select Alternate Level of Care (ALC) patients and families in conjunction with an interdisciplinary team and according to hospital and department policies and procedures.
