The City of Swift Current is inviting applications for one full-time, temporary (18-month) Water & Wastewater Operator position.
This role requires availability for shift work, on‑call duties, overtime, and standby assignments, including nights, weekends, and holidays, with a 20‑minute response time.
Reporting to the Superintendent of Water Distribution and Wastewater Collection, the Water & Wastewater Operators work as part of a crew that is responsible for installation, repair, and maintenance of the water distribution system and the sanitary sewage collection system. They are also responsible for assisting with snow removal, sanding roads, flood monitoring, and control.
Required Qualifications
Candidates who do not currently hold the required qualifications must obtain them within 12 months of their start date.
The City of Swift Current offers a competitive compensation package including a full employee benefit package. The hourly wage range is listed below and is in accordance with City of Swift Current - CUPE 183 Collective Bargaining Agreement. Job advancement through the levels of the Water & Wastewater Operator position is strongly encouraged and is attained through skills certification.
