Law Clerk/Paralegal
Pizza Hut Canada is looking for a business-oriented, bold thinker with a passion for delivering results to join our legal team as a Law Clerk or Paralegal.
- Reporting to the Chief Legal Officer and working in close collaboration across various functions in the organization, the role is responsible for contract administration and document management support;
- contract revisions; general intake of legal matters; maintenance and management of legal and contract databases; maintenance of corporate and franchise records;
and provision of legal support to internal stakeholders, including research and litigation management, and review of marketing materials, where necessary.
Key Responsibilities (include but are not limited to) :
- Prepare and work with all forms of legal documents including franchise disclosure documents, agreements, statements of work, letters, corporate forms, policies, memos, presentations, organizational charts and practise specific documents.
- Prepare and coordinate documents for execution by existing and prospective franchisees
- communicate directly with franchisees and external vendors
- Maintain franchisee agreements tracking systems and contract database
- Management of general and time-sensitive correspondence
- Coordinate with external counsel to maintain annual corporate filings
- Manage legal expenses and budget
Key Qualifications :
- Law clerk diploma, Paralegal license or equivalent
- Minimum - years of law firm or in-house legal department experience (franchise law experience a must)
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office Suite including Outlook and Word
- Self-starter, with ability to organize, multitask, and manage multiple priorities with attention to detail
- Confident and dependable, with strong initiative and ability to work both independently and in a team-orientated atmosphere
- Excellent client service skills
- Strong written / verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Proactive, creative, flexible and able to problem-solve and improve efficiencies
