Senior Electrical Engineer – Defence Sector
Join AtkinsRéalis as a Senior Electrical Engineer in our Defence sector. This role is based in Halifax, Ottawa, Toronto‑GTA, Sudbury, Winnipeg, Calgary or Vancouver.
Overview
Responsible for electrical design and execution of projects serving the National Defence Portfolio across Canada. This includes building systems such as power utilities, distribution, grounding, lightning protection, lighting, fire alarm, security, communications, controls and sustainable initiatives.
Your Role
- Lead electrical engineering commitments to ensure successful project completion within scope, schedule, budget and procedures.
- Resolve complex design or execution issues by developing innovative solutions and applying project management principles on own projects and team members.
- Manage electrical staff resources on projects, mentor development, and support recruitment of new team members.
- Provide technical guidance and quality assurance to ensure the adequacy of electrical engineering work.
- Participate in estimates and project proposals (or coordinate resources) and approve Electrical Engineering estimates.
- Lead delivery of electrical design and system integration in multi‑disciplinary projects from preliminary design through completion.
- Develop new business and support growth of the National Defence market.
About You
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering. Registered as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng) and eligible for registration in multiple Canadian provinces.10+ years of electrical consulting experience, with significant exposure to National Defence projects.Knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code and applicable industry / regulatory standards.Experience in a consulting engineering environment managing time, resources and budget allocations.Strong client focus, including initiatives for business development, marketing, and RFP responses.Willingness to travel to project sites within Canada.Ability to obtain CISD Level II (SECRET) clearance.Reward & Benefits
