If you are a Health Care Aide who loves the rural lifestyle and working with the elderly, then this position in Taber might be just what you’re looking for! Taber Continuing Care is comprised of 10 LTC beds and 2 CTB beds in the area. As a member of the team, you will provide excellent patient and resident family centered care. Client care may include assisting clients with activities of daily living, treatments and treatment plan, and other Nursing team related activities.
Responsibilities
- Provide basic Nursing care to residents as an unregulated worker under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or in accordance with CCHSS, resident care plans and AHS policies and procedures.
- Assist clients with activities of daily living and treatments per care plans.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Monitor resident progress and report relevant information to the Registered Nurse in a timely manner.
- Participate in RAI MDS resident tracking, care plan development and implementation as directed.
- After demonstrating competence, provide restricted activities deemed appropriate by the organization based on the resident / patient condition under RN supervision.
- Maintain accurate, concise documentation that meets organizational legislative and legal requirements.
Qualifications
Completion of Health Care Aide Certificate within 18 months of hire and active directory status on the Alberta Health Care Aide Directory. Provide confirmation letter of enrollment from the Directory at https : / / www.albertahcadirectory.com / health-care-aides / confirmation / .Must provide a confirmation letter as proof of enrolment from the Directory at the provided URL.Nursing students currently enrolled in an approved Alberta nursing program who have successfully completed a minimum of 100 hours practicum and are either in their 1st year of practical nursing program or 2nd year of baccalaureate nursing or psychiatric nursing program will be considered.Must attest to compliance and provide proof of qualification.Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.Supportive Pathways Certificate.Preferred Qualifications
Minimum of one (1) year experience in Long Term Care or supportive living experience.Familiarity with Continuing Care Health Service Standards.Experience caring for patients with Dementia.NVCI training.Position Details
