We are experiencing exponential growth in our presence in Canada. In 1998, it was awarded for the construction, operation, and maintenance project for the Fredericton-Moncton Highway. In 2011, it was awarded a section of the Toronto-York Spadina Subway extension, the first modern subway infrastructure project in the city. This project was completed in 2018.

FCC Construcción Canadá has won a new contract to deliver the Pape Tunnel and Underground Stations section of the Ontario Line, together with the GO Rail Expansion-On Corridor Project and the Scarborough Subway Extension Stations, Rail and Systems Project reinforces FCC Construcción’s presence in the Canadian market.

Project Opportunity

We are looking for a Risk Coordinator to join our FCC Canada team assigned to the Pape Tunnel and Underground Stations Project.

This position is located in downtown Toronto.

POSITION SUMMARY

As a Risk Coordinator, you will be a key member of our project team in Toronto, responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating project risks to ensure successful project delivery. Reporting to the Risk Lead, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing risk management strategies aligned with project objectives. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the planning and execution of a major infrastructure project from its inception.

Responsibilities :

  • Collaborate with project stakeholders to identify, assess, and prioritize project risks throughout the different phases of construction project lifecycle.
  • Analyze plans, specifications, and site conditions to identify potential risk factors and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of tailored risk management plans to address safety hazards, regulatory compliance, environmental impact, and contractual risks.
  • Support in minimizing budget overruns, schedule delays, and quality issues through strategic risk mitigation measures.
  • Monitor project progress and risk indicators, providing regular updates to the Risk Lead and adjusting mitigation strategies as needed.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration among project teams, contractors, and regulatory authorities to ensure alignment and project success.
  • Understand and adhere to safety management systems, policies, procedures, and values.
  • Contribute to the implementation of the Risk Breakdown Structure aligned with project WBS and CBS.
  • Provide cost and schedule risk modelling.
  • Support the performance of Quantitative Cost and Schedule Risk Analysis using Risk Management software (Safran Risk) and the interpretation of analysis results.
  • Prepare details project risk reports as required for the project milestones.
  • Perform day-to-day management of the Risk Management Software.

Education and Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Architecture, or related field of studies.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in project risk (qualitative and quantitative risk analysis)
  • Experience in transit projects is a must
  • Experience in Progressive Design Build / Target Price contracts
  • Background in project controls is a must
  • Strong background in construction project lifecycle and associated risks.
  • Experience in managing risks on complex construction projects, with knowledge of contractual aspects to mitigate legal and financial risks.
  • Safron Risk Analytics background / weekly-monthly analysis, modelling and reporting experience is an asset
  • Proficiency in Excel, including advanced functions such as pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and data analysis tools.
  • Experience with Power BI for data visualization and reporting.
