Our Client has embarked on a major academic and administrative transformation with the implementation of a new operating model, which includes a hybrid of centralized and decentralized delivery of services. This new model promotes consistency, avoids duplication, and supports a one-university approach. Core to the model is fostering service excellence and improving improve both academic and administrative performance as One University.

With this strategic direction in mind, our client has launched the Continuous Administrative Service Improvement Program (CASIP) to improve the service experience of staff and students by refining or redesigning our business processes and aligning our enterprise systems with those processes.

An area of focus in CASIP is their data assets. With the onset of a new data strategy, they have embarked on a journey of focusing on institutional data to enhance decision making.

They are seeking a Business Intelligence (BI) Specialist to assist in one of the data strategy missions.

Under the direction of the Director Enterprise Information Governance the BI Specialist will play a crucial role in the strategic planning of how we share and report information by analyzing data to inform decision-making processes. Some key responsibilities of the BI Specialist :

  • Developing and Managing BI Solutions : The BI Analyst will create business intelligence solutions that help in data analysis and reporting.
  • Data Analysis : the BI Analyst will gather and analyze data from various sources, to identify trends and patterns that can be solutioned on.
  • Reporting : you will be responsible for providing reports, dashboards, and visualizations that help communicate findings to leaders and stakeholders.
  • Collaboration : you will work closely with different departments to improve reporting needs and objectives.
  • Process Improvement : the BI Analyst will help design and define business processes and recommend improvements to management and executives.
  • Documentation : You will create and maintain documentation, including design, requirements, and user manuals as needed.

The Business Intelligence Analysts will help bring trust in their data assets through processes and insights. The incumbent requires a blend of strong analytical skills, deep BI application knowledge, proficiency in data manipulation, and the ability to communicate complex information in an understandable way.

Key Skills :

Experience leading major transformation projects involving significant changes to business process and technology within a complex environment

Demonstrated experience and deep knowledge in leading projects in the area of business intelligence, data access, report certifications and visualizations

Demonstrated experience in BI applications incorporating organizational change management principles and activities into the approach to project delivery

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision is required

Experience working in an post secondary institution is considered an asset

Certifications such as Tableau BI Analyst, Desktop Specialist or CBIP are an asset
