Job Description
The Powerline Trainee (Trades Trainee) position is an entry-level role that is intended to provide support to the crew and job along with supervised exposure to the Powerline trade. This role provides the Trainee an opportunity to acquire the knowledge and basic job skills to make an informed decision on whether to pursue the trade and enter the Apprenticeship Program.

Responsibilities
Under the direction of a qualified Journeyman or Sub-Foreman, a Trades Trainee may :
- Use hand tools
- Identify materials
- Work as a ground person & material handle
- Dig pole holes, anchors, etc.
- Perform labour-type work in pole setting and URD
- Operate bucket and boom trucks
- Climb
- Install and pull on cold construction
- Frame poles on the ground
- Assists in warehouse cleanliness, recycling and waste disposal
- Operate forklifts, carts, dollies and other equipment as required
- Assist with snow removal and yard access requirements
- Load, unload and move materials around the worksite
- Maintain clean and organized work environment
- Assist with maintaining a safe work environment and adhere to occupational health and safety regulations
- Participate in health and safety related duties
- Other related duties as required

BC Hydro Electric Utility Fundamentals (online course)Operator Certification an assetExperience running construction equipment an assetWorking Environment
