You will be a welcomed member of the team, working in a fast-paced environment where you will make a meaningful difference in residents’ lives. As a Dietary Aide , you will support residents’ health and well-being by assisting with meal preparation and service, ensuring a safe, clean, and pleasant dining experience every day. As an individual and part of a wider team, you will be a strong contributor to the culture of the home, where the focus is always on helping residents live fully, every day.

Following proper food handling techniquesDates, labels, and stores food properlyKeeping work area clean and uncluttered, and completes scheduled cleaning dutiesMaintaining cleanliness of floors in the food preparation, dish room, and storage areasSupporting all aspects of optimal food service to meet the needs of the residents in accordance with infection control, quality management, legislative requirements and the organization standardsAssisting in the preparation of meals, serving meals and beverages, following residents' diets and food preferences, using proper portion sizesTaking orders for the first and second menu choices from residents (by resident name and preference selection, following likes and dislikes)Setting and clearing tables in the dining rooms and washing / sanitizing tables, chairs, and serveriesPerforming other duties as assignedWhat you need to know :
Must maintain a current Safe Food Handler’s CertificateMust be familiar with the correct procedure for service and handling of foodAbility to operate institutional cooking equipment, for example, dishwasher, conveyor toaster, and meat-slicerMust have effective verbal and written English communication skillsYou must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work / study permitYou must successfully pass a Vulnerable Sector Check and Criminal Records CheckSienna Senior Living may utilize artificial Intelligence to screen or assess applicants for this positionSienna Senior Living is committed to employment equity, diversity, and inclusion in the workplace.
