Utility Distribution Engineer

We are currently looking for an Electrical Engineer in Distribution Design to work at our Mississauga or Kitchener ON offices. You will be responsible for producing electrical utility designs and plans for overhead and underground distribution system improvements upgrades and new developments. Familiarity with electrical and civil utility construction standards and design practices is essential for this position. Design work will be performed within Ontario and will involve all aspects of electrical utility planning and design.

Primary Responsibilities

• Develop review and approve detailed design deliverables for Utility Distribution systems including construction drawings for overhead and underground primary and secondary installations according to ON Reg 22 / 04 and Client standards.
• Perform site visits to validate scope requirements and determine existing assets condition and prepare site survey reports.
• Prepare / review technical calculations drawings bill of material and other deliverables and provide as required technical input for reports specs proposals schedules and costs.
• Communicate with 3rd parties permitting jurisdictions and Clients to align delivery requirements with scope expectations.
• Prepare calculations drawings construction and work packages and other project base deliverables.
• Review and certify Joint Use applications and approve HMRs on behalf of utilities.
• Perform and assist with additional duties and tasks based on in project requirements.
