Overview

Machine operator, woodworking – responsible for setting up, programming and operating computerized or manual woodworking machines to fabricate or repair wooden parts for furniture, fixtures, and other wood products.

Responsibilities

Set up, program and operate one or more computerized or manual woodworking machines

Fabricate or repair wooden parts for furniture, fixtures, and other wood products

Operate gluing machines to glue pieces or wood together or press and affix wood veneer to wood surfaces

Read and interpret specifications or follow verbal instructions

Clean and lubricate machinery and equipment

Replace parts as required

Read blueprint, schemas and drawings

Requirements & Qualifications

Education : No degree, certificate or diploma required

Experience : 1 year to less than 2 years in woodworking or a related field

Computer and technology knowledge : Mastercam CAD / CAM

Equipment and machinery experience : Use of computer numerical control (CNC) machines

Transportation / travel information : Public transportation is not available – work site is on site

Work conditions and physical capabilities :
