Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated construction laborer for the shipping and receiving department. This role involves onsite duties including receiving deliveries, unpacking skids, organizing, and transporting materials. The primary responsibility is to safely handle and move 100-400lb glass doors, which are extremely fragile and heavy. For oversized loads, heavy equipment will be used to unload the glass doors from skids and position them for installation. For heavier doors, teamwork is essential as a team of four will assist in maneuvering. Additional tasks include lifting materials off trucks, organizing, and itemizing items. The role involves heavy lifting and material movement 90% of the time, focusing on site-required doors and materials for shipping and receiving.

Responsibilities

• Safely move and handle 100-400lb glass doors.
• Use heavy equipment to unload oversized loads.
• Work in a team to maneuver heavier doors.
• Lift materials off trucks, organize, and itemize items.
• Perform heavy lifting and material movement 90% of the time.

Essential Skills

• Experience working on a construction site.
• Experience lifting 70-400 lbs with assistance.
• Ability to lift 70-100lbs alone, consistently and carefully.
• Familiarity with forklift, receiver, and shipping equipment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience dispatching/loading/unloading glass or glass doors.
• Forklift ticket.
• Telehandler ticket.

Work Environment

The work environment includes a late morning shift from 9:30 am to 6 pm, with the first day starting at 7:00 am for orientation. You will work alongside another shipper and receiver from Monday to Friday. The project may last even longer than anticipated. Please note that there is no parking in the area, so plan accordingly. The atmosphere is safety-focused, so adherence to all safety rules is mandatory.
