Insurance Advisor

We are seeking a highly motivated and dependable individual to join a leading national insurance firm recognized for its commitment to employees and community presence.

You will be the face of the brand in a key location, handling everything from serving existing policies to actively selling new home and auto insurance packages, with a strong focus on generating new business through community engagement.

Duration: Permanent, Full-Time
Location: Happy Valley-Goose Bay, Newfoundland and Labrador
Work Arrangement: Fully On-Site
Shift: Monday to Friday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, plus one Saturday per month.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities
This is a blended 50% Service / 50% Sales role where you will manage a book of business while actively drawing in new clients. Since this is an individualistic, one-person office environment, dependability and accountability are paramount.

Sales and New Business: Actively upsell and cross-sell insurance packages (home and auto) to existing clients, draw new business into the office, and participate in community promotion and potential cold-calling efforts.

Client Service & Policy Management: Serve existing policies, conduct needs assessments, process renewals, and handle retention calls.

Underwriting & Approvals: Write new policies, seek underwriting approval, and communicate with Underwriters and Adjusters to discuss guidelines and policy changes.

Administrative Dependability: Maintain the office operations. Must be highly reliable and dependable to ensure the office remains open and functional (office closure may occur if the individual is absent).

Process Compliance: Utilize broker management systems (like EPIC) and specialized databases to accurately process changes, issue certificates, and maintain records.

Service Level Excellence: Answer and manage a high volume of approximately 12–15 inbound calls and walk-in clients per day, aiming to answer calls within 20 seconds.

KEY ATTRIBUTES & SKILLS:

Sales Driven: Demonstrated "Can Do" attitude with an ability and motivation to successfully upsell and cross-sell policies.

Reliability & Dependability (Non-Negotiable): Must be highly reliable, available, and accountable for managing a one-person office environment.

Adaptability & Multitasking: Proven ability to handle multiple priorities and transition smoothly between walk-ins, inbound sales calls, administrative documentation, and policy service duties under stress.

Licensing Readiness: High School Diploma or Post-Secondary Education, and a strong willingness to dedicate two weeks to study and obtain the Newfoundland General Insurance License.

Technical Proficiency: Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and comfortable rapidly adapting to new technology platforms (Broker Management Systems).

Customer Focus: Excellent customer service personality, adept in conflict resolution, and comfortable dealing independently with client expectations.

KPI Focused: Motivated by performance metrics, including annual sales volume, Customer Satisfaction Surveys (NPS), and call Service Levels.
