Junior SSIS / SSAS Developer

Job Description

The successful candidate will implement and manage Global Data Mining projects and support reporting functions requiring technical skills with latitude in approach and analysis. This person would participate in defining the objectives, scope, and requirements of assigned activities, analyze issues and problems and determine the best approach and methodology to address them.

The main objective of the job is to translate client (internal / external) requirements into ETL data flows from source to target. Other major activities may include, but are not limited to, support marketing research, statistical analysis, ad-hoc reporting and the implementation of necessary system and operational controls, to ensure data integrity and compliance with industry legislation and / or internal company policies.

Location : Hybrid, with training and occasional days at One York Street, Toronto

What Will You Do?

Assist in defining requirements, plans, and implement projects which are complex, analytical, and very technical in nature

Analyze operational and system problems and suggest solutions on how to address them

Design, implement, and maintain system applications to support Actuarial Studies, Financial Reporting, Marketing Research, and Management Information reporting

Implement system and operational controls to ensure data integrity of reports and analyses produced in the department

What Do You Need To Succeed?

University degree in Science, Mathematics, or Statistics or College diploma in Information Technology or Computer Programming

3 years experience in designing ETL solutions and packages in SSIS (or similar constructs in other leading ETL applications like Informatica PowerCenter)

3 years experience with Visual Basic or C#

3 years experience with SSMS and SQL queries

3 years experience with SSAS

3 years experience in data analysis, and project management techniques

Experience deploying SSIS solutions with environment variables and scheduling using SQL Server Agent

Experience deploying SSAS solutions

Experience with SSRS, R or Tableau

Good knowledge of MS Excel and MS Access including VBA

Assets

Understanding of Life Insurance and / or Segmented Funds

Knowledge of projects and systems development methodologies

Experience with SSRS and Tableau

Unique Requirements

As a condition of the role, the successful candidate must obtain a Government of Canada Reliability Status security clearance through Sun Life in advance of the start date
