What you’ll do to be successful…

Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, you will maintain all Purchase Orders with local and international vendors and update Inventory computerized records, systems and paperwork for the Purchasing group.

What you’ll deliver …

  • Set up and maintain product and vendor information in company database.
  • Analyze stock levels and place purchase orders from approved suppliers.
  • Source new vendors in Europe, US, Canada and assist purchasing team with buying products, establish relationship with new suppliers (as per company needs).
  • Negotiate with new and current vendors to secure lowest prices while maintaining high quality.
  • Analyze data in Excel, understand demand forecast and efficient purchasing.
  • Understand inventory management and manage Cycle counting for all warehouses, obtaining counts, reconciling numbers, resolving discrepancies.
  • Prepare required Excel reports, and Daily Sales reports, Weekly inventory report, and Monthly purchasing report.
  • Perform filing and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

What you’ll bring …

  • Equivalent of completion of a post-secondary degree / diploma program in Supply Chain Management, Materials Management, Purchasing, Business Administration or another related field
  • 1 year of experience in general office administration involving data and inventory system maintenance is strongly preferred with a strong aptitude to learn on the job
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel pivot tables and V lookups, and good understanding of ERP and MRP systems and reporting tools are required; MXP knowledge is an asset
  • Solid business acumen with proven analytical, problem solving and decision making skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work on multiple initiatives and projects simultaneously with high attention to detail
  • Work independently and collaboratively as part of a team within strict deadlines
  • Polished, professional presentation with well-developed oral and written English communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organization skills and a strong sense of urgency with a customer service mindset
  • Indisputable integrity as well as credibility and demonstrated ability to influence and motivate others
  • Strong work ethic with proven ability to adapt to changing priorities with a positive attitude
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with preferred expertise in electrical components and industrial hardware
